Win a Suzuki Jimny with NSRI Cars4Good
A R695 ticket supports NSRI lifesaving programmes and enters the remaining audited vehicle draws, subject to the official rules.
Three Jimny prizes remain as of 2 September 2026
NSRI Cars4Good 2026 offers four Suzuki Jimny 5-door vehicles through an audited fundraising competition. The first Jimny has already been awarded, leaving three scheduled prizes as of 2 September 2026: one associated with the September cutoff and two in the final December draw. Each competition ticket requires a minimum R695 contribution, and only 45,000 ticket entries are available. Tickets support the National Sea Rescue Institute’s rescue, lifeguarding and drowning-prevention work.

Is NSRI Cars4Good real?
Yes. The campaign, entry form, rules and previous winners are published on NSRI’s official website. The competition is run in partnership with Suzuki Auto South Africa, and NSRI states that it is a Society Lottery Scheme registered with the National Lotteries Commission under registration 00077/41.
The current rules provide for four winners and say every draw is officiated by a senior representative of NSRI’s auditors. The first 2026 winner has already been published on the organiser’s winners page, confirming that one Suzuki Jimny 5-door GLX was awarded in July.
How to enter Cars4Good 2026
What can you win?
Cars4Good launched with four new Suzuki Jimny 5-door prizes. NSRI’s first-winner page identifies the July vehicle as a Jimny 5-door GLX. However, the official Terms expressly state that vehicle models and values may change because of supplier model changes and availability. Entrants should therefore treat the exact grade, colour and final specification of future prizes as subject to confirmation.
The Jimny 5-door is a compact ladder-frame 4×4 with low-range four-wheel drive and additional rear-door practicality. Detailed specifications belong in our separate vehicle guide.

Our full South African review covers GLX pricing, manual and automatic options, ALLGRIP PRO capability, practicality, safety and comparable compact 4x4s.
Who can enter?
The published Terms say the competition is open to anyone aged 18 or older, except paid NSRI staff members, NSRI Governance Board members and staff members of NSRI’s auditors. The current rules do not separately state a South African citizenship or residency requirement.
That wording should not be interpreted as a promise that every international payment method or overseas vehicle-transfer situation is supported. A prospective entrant outside South Africa should request written confirmation from NSRI before contributing.
How much does it cost?
Each ticket attracts a minimum contribution of R695. The rules allow an individual to enter more than one ticket, and the campaign caps the complete ticket pool at 45,000 entries.
The contribution supports NSRI’s lifesaving purpose. Official campaign material describes funding for rescue readiness, volunteer crews, lifeguarding, survival swimming, water-safety education and specialised marine-animal rescue work. This charitable purpose does not guarantee or improve the result of any individual ticket.
Important dates and remaining prizes
| First cutoff and draw | 30 June / by 15 July 2026 — completed; one Jimny awarded |
|---|---|
| Second cutoff | 30 September 2026 at midnight |
| Second draw | No later than 16 October 2026 |
| Second winner/prize | To be announced and awarded by 31 October 2026 |
| Final intended cutoff | The live campaign page indicates 15 December 2026, but the rules contain an incorrect “2025” year |
| Final draw | No later than 22 December 2026 |
| Final winners/prizes | Two winners and two prizes by 31 December 2026 |
How are the winners chosen?
Four winners are drawn during the year by a representative of NSRI’s auditors, with the prize draws officiated by a senior auditor representative. The auditor’s decision is final if a dispute arises.
The rules say each ticket participates in each draw. Once a ticket wins, that winning ticket is not eligible for the next draw. A supporter who buys after an earlier cutoff cannot retroactively participate in a completed draw, but can enter the remaining draws for which the ticket is processed in time.
Can I enter more than once?
Yes. There is no published limit on the number of tickets one person may enter. Each ticket requires its own minimum R695 contribution. More tickets create more entries, but do not guarantee a win and may quickly increase the total amount contributed.
The overall competition is limited to 45,000 ticket entries. This cap does not automatically reveal an individual’s exact odds because ticket sales at a given cutoff, previously winning tickets and the timing of each entry all affect the relevant draw pool.
What happens if you win?
Entrants are notified of draw outcomes through NSRI’s magazine, newsletter and website. The current Terms say an unclaimed prize will be donated back to NSRI if it is not claimed within 12 months after the winner is notified.
The vehicle model or value may change if supplier availability changes. The rules state that prizes are tax free, while competition entries do not qualify for a tax certificate.
Costs the winner may still need to pay
The organiser’s currently published Cars4Good rules do not specify whether registration, licensing, delivery, transport or insurance are included. A verified winner should ask NSRI for a written handover breakdown before arranging collection or cover. Do not assume that every ownership cost is paid merely because the prize itself is described as tax free.
Important rules people might miss
- The minimum contribution is R695 for each competition ticket.
- Unidentified contributions receive no ticket number and no draw entry.
- One valid ticket can participate in successive draws until it wins or the campaign ends.
- A winning ticket is removed from later draws.
- Multiple tickets are permitted, but each needs its own qualifying contribution.
- The complete competition is capped at 45,000 tickets.
- Competition entries do not qualify for a tax certificate.
- Vehicle models and values can change with supplier availability.
- The December cutoff contains a published year error; confirm directly with NSRI.
Is entering worth it?
Cars4Good is most compelling for someone who already wants to support NSRI’s rescue and prevention work and views the Jimny draw as an additional benefit. The fixed 45,000-ticket cap provides more transparency than an unlimited-entry promotion, but it still does not justify promises of favourable odds.
Budget the R695 as a fundraising contribution you are comfortable making without receiving a vehicle. Entering only to chase the prize overlooks the campaign’s charitable purpose and can encourage spending beyond a sensible amount.
