Two ways to win a Suzuki Across
Compare the Kaalvoet Ligbaken R200 competition with the SA Guide-Dogs R150 car raffle — including entry steps, deadlines and rules that matter.
Official information checked 2 September 2026
South Africans currently have two separate, officially published opportunities to enter for a Suzuki Across. Kaalvoet Ligbaken NPC sells R200 tickets for a one-car education fundraiser, while the South African Guide-Dogs Association sells R150 raffle tickets for a Suzuki Across Automatic plus a Dinokeng safari package. These are not two entry routes into the same draw. They have different organisers, ticket limits, deadlines and winner procedures. Below, we explain how each works, where the current official information conflicts, and how to enter through the correct organiser.

Are these Suzuki Across competitions real?
Both are confirmed through the organisers’ own websites and published rules. Kaalvoet Ligbaken NPC names the Suzuki Across, publishes its ticket price, entry cap, dates and winner procedure, and states that the competition is approved by the National Lottery Commission. The Guide-Dogs Association publishes the prize and complete raffle procedure on its own website and describes the campaign as a Society Lottery Scheme registered with the National Lotteries Commission under reference NLC. 00017/43.
That confirmation does not mean links shared by unrelated accounts are safe. Enter only on the organiser’s official domain, check the address before paying, and never pay someone who contacts you privately claiming that a fee is required to release a prize. This website explains the competitions but does not sell tickets, process entries or select winners.
Competition 1: Kaalvoet Ligbaken’s Suzuki Across
Kaalvoet Ligbaken NPC is using the competition to support education initiatives in the Kameeldrift community, including school maintenance, learner therapy and broader school development. The official page lists R200 per ticket, permits multiple entries and caps the entire competition at 5,000 tickets. Tickets are non-refundable and are sent by email after payment.
How to enter the Kaalvoet competition
Who can enter and how the winner is handled
Entrants must be South African citizens and at least 18. Directors of Kaalvoet Ligbaken, directors of Penta Motor Group, the auditor and the IT consultant are excluded. The rules provide for one draw and one winner but do not describe the technical randomisation method.
Under the original schedule, the winner is contacted by telephone after the draw. If contact fails, the organisers say they will try every second day until 27 November 2026 and draw a replacement on 28 November. The confirmed winner must provide an ID book, ID card or passport. The vehicle-registration process then begins in the winner’s name. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash, and the winner agrees that their name, surname and photo may be published.
Competition 2: SA Guide-Dogs 2026 Car Raffle
The South African Guide-Dogs Association’s annual raffle supports assistance dogs, daily-living skills training and services for people with visual, physical and developmental disabilities. The ticket price is R150, each ticket supplies one entry, and the campaign page states that only 25,000 tickets are available.
The prize package is larger than the vehicle alone: the official campaign page advertises a Suzuki Across Automatic plus a two-night self-catering stay at Dinokeng Game Reserve, a three-hour guided Big Five drive, a dining voucher for one evening at Rusty Rhino Restaurant and a cheetah-monitoring experience.
How to enter the Guide-Dogs raffle
How the Guide-Dogs winner is selected
The ticket-product rules say the winner is selected at random using an automated system. The draw is scheduled for 7 March 2027 at the Gladys Evans Training Centre in Paulshof. The selected person is called immediately and later announced on the Association’s website and social channels.
The winner must produce valid identification and must personally sign for the prize when delivery is arranged. The prize is not transferable and cannot be replaced with cash. If it is not claimed within 90 days, the rules state that it will be forfeited, sold and the proceeds retained by the Association. Publicity participation may also be required without additional payment.
What exactly is the Suzuki Across prize?
Kaalvoet’s page promises a brand-new Suzuki Across but warns that model, colour and value may change because of supplier updates and availability. The Guide-Dogs campaign specifically advertises a Suzuki Across Automatic and adds the Dinokeng experience. Neither competition should be read as promising every feature shown in promotional photography. Confirm the final grade and specification with the organiser.
Want details about the vehicle itself?
Our separate guide covers South African pricing, specifications, technology, practicality and ownership considerations without duplicating the competition rules.
Costs the winner may still need to pay
Kaalvoet prize costs
- The official rules describe the prize as tax free.
- They state that registration in the winner’s name will begin after confirmation.
- They do not clearly specify insurance, transport, licensing fees or ongoing ownership expenses.
- Do not assume an unlisted expense is included.
Guide-Dogs prize costs
- The organiser says it will try to arrange a collection location near the winner.
- The rules do not clearly allocate insurance, licensing or registration costs.
- Travel needed to collect the vehicle is not expressly promised.
- Normal fuel, maintenance and ownership costs remain relevant after delivery.

Rules people could easily miss
- These are independent competitions; an entry in one does not enter the other.
- Kaalvoet tickets are non-refundable, even though an extension may be activated.
- Kaalvoet entrants must be South African citizens aged 18 or older.
- The Guide-Dogs rules do not currently publish a general age or residency requirement; contact the organiser if eligibility is uncertain.
- Guide-Dogs EFT entries close several days earlier than website entries.
- Both prizes are non-transferable in practical terms, and neither can be exchanged for cash under the published rules.
- Both organisers may publish the winner’s identity and use publicity material.
- More tickets create more entries but never guarantee or materially assure a win.
- Keep tickets, receipts and payment confirmations until the prize has been awarded.
Which entry makes more sense?
Neither option should be treated as a vehicle-purchase strategy. Kaalvoet costs R200 per entry, has a smaller published ticket cap and supports Kameeldrift education projects, but its extension clause creates uncertainty around the final draw schedule. Guide-Dogs costs R150, has a much larger 25,000-ticket cap and includes a safari package, while supporting disability services and assistance-dog programmes.
If you already want to support one of the causes, a ticket can combine that contribution with an entry. If your only motivation is the prize, set a fixed budget before buying. Published ticket limits are not the same as guaranteed odds because sales, valid-entry checks and possible unsold tickets can affect the final pool.

Frequently asked questions
Are both Suzuki Across competitions legitimate?
Both are published on the respective organisers’ official websites with named prizes, ticket prices and rules. Enter only through those official domains.
Does one ticket enter both draws?
No. They are entirely separate campaigns. A Kaalvoet ticket enters only the Kaalvoet draw, and a Guide-Dogs ticket enters only the Guide-Dogs raffle.
How much does it cost to enter?
Kaalvoet charges R200 per competition ticket. The Guide-Dogs raffle costs R150 per ticket, with one entry attached to each ticket.
Can I enter more than once?
Kaalvoet expressly permits multiple entries. Guide-Dogs gives one entry per ticket and publishes no personal ticket maximum, subject to the 25,000-ticket overall cap.
When does the Kaalvoet competition close?
The primary closing date is 31 October 2026. If 5,000 tickets have not been sold, the rules allow an extension to 27 February 2027. Check the official page for the live status.
When does the Guide-Dogs raffle close?
EFT entries close at midnight on 3 March 2027. Because two official pages conflict on the website deadline, entrants should use 13:00 on 7 March 2027 as the safe cutoff.
Do I need to attend either draw?
The current published rules do not state that an entrant must be physically present to win. Both organisers describe telephone contact procedures.
Can the winner choose cash instead?
No. Both sets of rules say that the vehicle prize cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash.
Is a driver’s licence required to enter?
Neither current rule set clearly publishes a general driver’s-licence requirement. That does not remove legal licensing requirements for driving the vehicle after handover.
